Legal notice drafting

A legal notice is a formal letter that tells the other side what they owe or must stop doing, and by when. We draft demand notices, replies and cease-and-desist notices from your facts.

Starting from

₹1,499*

Usually ready in

2 working days

*Conditions apply. The written quote on WhatsApp is final.

What it is

The notice sets out the facts in order, with dates and amounts, states the demand, and gives a time to comply. A reply answers each point in the notice you received.

Some notices have legal time limits, such as a cheque bounce notice. Send us the dates early so the notice goes out in time.

Who it is for

  • Advocates who want a first draft to check and send on their own letterhead.
  • People and small businesses owed money, a deposit or a refund.
  • Anyone who has received a notice and needs a reply.

What you send

  • What happened, with the dates.
  • The other side's name and address.
  • Any papers you have, such as the agreement, invoices, the bounced cheque and the bank memo, or the notice you received.

What you get

  • A notice ready to send, in Word and PDF.
  • The facts, the demand and the time to comply, set out point by point.
  • One round of changes.

Questions people ask

Who signs and sends the notice?
You do, or your advocate does. If your notice needs an advocate, the quote names the advocate and gives their Bar Council enrolment number before you agree to anything.
My cheque bounced. Is there a deadline?
Yes. A cheque bounce notice has strict time limits under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Our cheque bounce guide sets them out. Message us as soon as you get the bank memo.
Can you draft a reply to a notice I received?
Yes. Send the notice and your side of the facts, with any papers that support it.
Will the notice make the other side pay?
No one can promise that. A clear notice states your claim on record, and many people settle at that stage. What happens next is your decision, with your advocate.
