Who we are

The Legal Works is an online legal support company. We work by phone and WhatsApp on +91 90805 59910, and our website is thelegalworks.in. In these terms, we and us mean The Legal Works.

What we do

We draft, review and translate legal documents. This includes petitions, legal notices, affidavits, agreements, complaints, letters to government offices, document checks, and typing of voice dictation. The full list and starting prices are on our home page.

Legal opinions and court filings are handled by independent enrolled advocates. An advocate who works on your matter is responsible for their own opinion or filing.

What we do not do

• We are not a law firm, and we do not practise law.
• The Legal Works, as a company, does not give legal advice.
• We do not promise any result. No one can promise how a court, an office or the other side will act.
• Our translations are not certified or official translations unless your quote says who certifies them. Some courts and offices need their own translation.

Quotes and payment

Every job starts with a written quote on WhatsApp. It gives the price, what is included, and when you will get the work.

If your work needs an advocate, the quote names the advocate and gives their Bar Council enrolment number, before you agree to anything.

You pay only after you accept the quote. We then send a GPay payment request to your phone number, with the exact amount and a description of the work. Approve only that request.

We never ask you to pay to a UPI ID or a QR code. If a payment request does not match your quote, decline it and tell us on WhatsApp at +91 90805 59910.

We never ask for payment on a phone call. If anyone calls and asks for money in our name, do not pay, and tell us on WhatsApp.

What *Conditions apply means

Every price on this website is a starting price, marked with an asterisk and *Conditions apply. The final price depends on:

• how long the document is,
• how soon you need it,
• the language,
• how many parties are involved,
• how many documents we need to read.

Your written quote gives the final price. Once you accept it, the price does not change unless you change the work.

Stamp duty, court fees and notary charges are not part of our price unless your quote says so.

Changes to the work

One round of changes is included in the price. Send all your changes together in one message.

Changes that need new facts, new documents or a different kind of document count as new work. We send a new quote for them first.

Turnaround

The time in your quote is how long the work usually takes. It is not a guarantee. Delays can happen when papers are missing, facts change, or an advocate needs more time. If your work will be late, we tell you on WhatsApp.

Cancellation and refunds

• If we cancel your work, you get a full refund.
• If you cancel before work starts, you get a full refund.
• If you cancel after work starts, we refund the part of the fee for work not yet done.
• After we deliver the work, there is no refund, unless the work has an error on our part.

To cancel, message us on WhatsApp. We send refunds within 7 working days, to the UPI account you paid from.

Your responsibilities

• Give us true and complete information, and genuine documents. Our work depends on what you tell us.
• Keep your own copies of every document you send us.
• Read the work before you use it, and tell us if anything is wrong.
• File and sign your documents yourself, unless your quote says otherwise.
• Do not send Aadhaar or PAN numbers. Cover the number if a document shows it.

Limit of our liability

If something goes wrong with our work, the most we are liable for is the fee you paid us for that work.

We are not liable for loss caused by wrong or missing information you gave us, or by delays at a court or an office.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under Indian consumer law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page on the day you accept a quote applies to that work.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
